An additional team could make the championship more competitive, potentially bringing in new talent, sponsors, and manufacturers.

GM/Cadillac would also need to pay an anti-dilution fee of $200 million to be distributed among existing teams to compensate for the reduced share of revenue. This ensures the financial stability of the current teams.

More cars on the grid would mean changes in race weekend logistics, including pit lane space, qualifying formats, and paddock arrangements.

In recent years, there's been the significant interest in adding an 11th team, such as the bid by Andretti Global in partnership with General Motors (Cadillac) which officially got confirmed today.
